By default, the iOS app is set to autoplay certain videos (featured article videos and Livestream preview in CNBC TV tab) on mute when there is Wi-Fi connection available.
You can make changes to this setting by going to Settings --> Autoplay Video. You can choose "Always" or "Never" and then tap "Done" to save your changes.
